APC South East Leaders Meet In Enugu, Okorocha Absent, Imo Guber Aspirants Attend

Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the South East geo political zone are in Enugu for a stakeholders meeting. Almost all party leaders, party chieftains and governorship aspirants mainly from Imo State  were present at the meeting.

 

Among those in attendance include Minister of Science and Technology, Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu, his Labour and Employment counterpart, Chris Ngige. Members of the South East Zonal Executives led by Hon Emma Eneukwu were present at the meeting

 

According to details lifted from a popular online news medium innonews, Others in attendance are Senator Benjamin Uwajumuogu, Senator Andy Uba, National Organizing Secretary of the party, Senator Osita Izunaso, National Auditor, George Mogahalu, Senator Andy Uba, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Hon TOE Ekechi, Senator Matthew Omegara and many others.

 

Governorship aspirants of the party in Imo State on the party’s platform also attended the meeting. They include Senator Ifeanyi Arararume and Sir Jude Ejiogu.

 

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha was absent while His Deputy who is also in the governorship race, Eze Madumere was present.

 

Details of the meeting was sketchy as at press time but it was gathered that recent political developments in the party especially the forthcoming congresses and national convention was part of agenda of the meeting.

 

However, Trumpeta was reliably informed that Okorocha tactically avoided the meeting to avoid further humiliation in the hands of APC members after he was accused of working at cross purposes with the desire of majority of the party members from the zone.

 

The newspaper was told that after the Governor had lost face with the leadership of the zone over certain acts not in conformity with the desire of majority of South East APC leaders especially on the issue of Tenure Elongation for party officials, Okorocha no longer seeks to meet with party members from Igboland.

 

A reliable source who was behind the meeting disclosed that Okorocha had reportedly asked that the meeting be put off because of a tight engagement that would keep him off from the meeting
