For the Senator representing Orlu zone in the Red Chamber, Chief Hope Uzodinma, these are not the best of days, as the Omuma born politician frantically tries to figure out his political future as 2019 elections draw nearer.
According to sources close to the Senator, Trumpeta learnt that Uzodinma is having sleepless nights following the news that Senator Osita Izunaso is joining the Orlu Senate Seat, just weeks after Governor Rochas Okorocha had expressed his intension to join the race.
Sources told Trumpeta that the entrance of these two Heavyweights for the Orlu Senate diadem has raised the bar for the incumbent Senator, Chief Hope Uzodinma, who is already confused on which political platform he will stage a third term in 2019.
Already, Uzodinma is having a running battle with PDP, and his approach for a landing space in APGA was not acknowledged, while APC has been occupied with Okorocha and Izunaso set to do battle for the ticket.
Meanwhile, Hon Jones Onyereri has declared for the seat under PDP, and is said to be having favourable reactions from PDP hierarchy, who Hope Uzodinma engaged in litigation war which ended in the Supreme Court.
Not only that, sources hinted Trumpeta that Uzodinma is not happy that Okorocha has joined the race too, as it was learnt that both Orlu Big sons agreed that while Uzodinma vacates the Orlu Senate for Okorocha, the Governor will support him to move to Douglas House.
But instead, Okorocha is now brandishing his son in law, Uche Nwosu to take over from him, instead of Uzodinma.
With this latest situation where everything seems to be working against him, Senator Uzodinma is now in a quagmire, which only time will say how it will pan out.
