Commissioner Okolie commends retirees in his Ministry …As Staff Welfare Scheme holds send forth party


Staff of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs have been challenged to be hardworking and exemplary in order to receive honourable recognition on retirement.

The Commissioner in charge of the Ministry, Chief Gerry Okolie who threw the challenges in his speech on the occasion of the send forth party for the Ministry’s retirees organized by the Staff Welfare Scheme of the Ministry charged the staff to always think of tomorrow.

Chief Okolie remarked that the retirees lived a good life revealing that the occasion was to show appreciation to the people that served in the Ministry pointing out that not all who went to serve, not all who served retired and prayed God to bless the retirees with long life.

In her address, the chairman, Staff Welfare Scheme, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Lolo Georgy Alan B Onyemaechi expressed delight that the Staff Welfare Scheme that had been redundant has recently been revitalized, emphasizing that since then, the Executive Committee has been effectively responding to all challenges.

Lolo Alan B Onyemaechi thanked the management of the Ministry including Commissioner Okolie and the Permanent Secretary Mrs L.N Asuzu for their moral and financial support which enable them to package the party with fewer problems.

Responding, one of the retirees, Nze Michael Amadi thanked the organizers of the party and advised staff of the ministry to always look away from distractions in order not to be deceived adding that government is taking good care of civil servants.
