Following yesterday’s publication of TRUMPETA Newspaper which carried a cover page story that the Secretary to Imo State Government SSG, Sir George Eche is in trouble for attaching Ugwumba Chieftaincy title to his name, the Imo Cabinet Office has promptly reacted to the publication.

In a swift reaction, an Aide to the SSG, Dr Emeka Nwankwo laughed off the story as the handiwork of opposition politicians, whose stock in trade is to set ember of discord where there is peace.

Dr Nwankwo told TRUMPETA that the SSG and the Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu are best of friends, who work in cordial relationship for the major goal of achieving success for the overall interest Imo State with their Principal, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Nwankwo maintained that he had to react to the story in order not to give disgruntled elements the opportunity to wade into the rosy relationship that exists between the Chief of Staff and the SSG.

“Both men and gentlemen technocrats whose combination in the Okorocha’s administration is the envy of mischief makers. They must not be allowed to succeed. Nwosu and Eche will ever remain good partners in the progress of Owelle Okorocha’s administration” he said.

On the issue of Ugwumba Chieftaincy title, Nwankwo disclosed that Eche in 2003 bagged the Ugwumba title from Ntu autonomous community in Ngor Okpala LGA, under late Eze S I Nweke.

He however said that Eche has stopped taking further Chieftaincy titles since five years now, and therefore is not under competition with his colleague and brother Uche Nwosu.

“Let me tell you that Eche was bestowed the Ugwumba Chieftaincy title in 2003 by late Eze Nweke of Ntu community, at a time he was working at the sub-treasurer Owerri” Nwankwo said.

Nwankwo said that Okorocha’s Appointees respect each other, which is the reason the administration of Okorocha has achieved a lot to the envy of opposition parties, who look for what to say every day.

“People should talk about the humongous achievements recorded by Okorocha’s administration in Imo State, and not about personal matters like Chieftaincy titles that means nothing to these two gentle men” Nwankwo concluded.
