As the days draw by, more and more politicians are indicating interest to Govern Imo State come 2019, when the incumbent Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha will vacate the office, after spending two terms of Eight years on the seat.

Trumpeta reliably learnt that more Aspirants from Owerri zone have joined the fray. This time, the rumored ambition of Chief Chuks Ololo, a brother inlaw to Governor Okorocha has become a reality, as this Newspaper learnt that the Egbelu Obube, Owerri North born business man has made up his mind to succeed his brother inlaw.

Trumpeta was informed that all is now set for Ololo to make an open declaration within the next few days.

Ololo who is married to Okorocha’s younger sister, was recently accused by some political leaders in Owerri North of trying to corner the All Progressive Congress APC structure in the LGA.

Sources said that Ololo will run under APC and have put everything in place to realize his ambition.

Sources told this Newspaper that the fund to run the project is no problem as Ololo has amassed enough war chest to prosecute the political battle, given that his brother inlaw had placed him on juicy positions to accumulate enough resources for the battle ahead.

Another surprise entrant into the 2019 Imo Governorship race is Bar Chima Anozie, popularly known as “Home Base”.

The Anozie scenario shocked a lot of people, who said he has not been frequently seen in political, circles lately after he was removed from office as the General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA.

Sources said that Anozie has since finished the ground work, and will make his ambition open within days.

Like Ololo who ran for the Owerri Federal Constituency Seat in 2015 and failed, Anozie has also tried to go to the House of Assembly to represent the people of Owerri North twice, but failed.

He hails from Orji in Owerri North LGA, and is business man who deals on property.

While many see the entrance of Ololo and Anozie into the Imo Guber race as a good omen, but an APC stalwart told TRUMPETA that he suspects that both men may be on a journey that may in the end affect the chances of Owerri zone in the 2019 Governorship.

The APC Chieftain went on to say that with too many Owerri North Aspirants joining the race, it may spell doom for the Area as none may grab the ticket in the end.

Meanwhile, sources close to Ololo and Anozie who spoke to this Newspaper could not deny nor confirm the story but asked.

“Are they not qualified to run for Imo Governorship seat? Both Ololo and Anozie are accomplished individuals in their chosen careers and they are eminently qualified to be Governor of Imo State”.
