Imo Equity Movement Insists on Owerri Zone –Ononuju

 

Worried at the recent political developments in Imo State, the membership of Imo Equity Movement and Imo Leadership Forum have reaffirmed their commitment to the realization of an Imo Governor from the Owerri zone extraction in 2019.

Rising from their Caucus Leadership meeting in Owerri over the weekend, the groups maintained that now that the congresses of the various political parties have been slated for March, 2018, the Groups will ensure that the outcome of the congresses will open the needed window for the realization of Owerri zone ambition.

Most leaders from both Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe zones who spoke during the meeting challenged all interested Governorship aspirants from Owerri zone to remain firm and steadfast as there may not be a better opportunity for an Owerri zone Governor in the State than now.

The groups warned those they described as political jobbers to stop heating the polity as equity demands for justice in the distribution of political positions.

Leader of the group Ezinwa Barrister Kingsley explained that he has sacrificed a lot including his life when he was in captivity in the realization of the agenda of the people.

Pointing out that with the State, Local government and Ward Coordinators of the two groups on ground, both the Imo equity and Imo leadership forum are spoilt for action during the congresses.

According to Barrister Ononuju, “We have challenged all Governorship aspirants of the various political parties to show more commitment and dedication in the realization of this dream. On our side, we are ready than ever to support and mobilize our people across the three geo-political zones in the realization of the goal”.
