Ihedioha Extols Nwakali for Uniting Eziobodo through Sports

Two of the brightest footballers from Eziobodo Community in Owerri West L.G.A, Chidiebere and kelechi Nwakali have been commended for their efforts towards the development of their area especially through sports.

This commendation was made by the former Deputy Speaker in the Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha (Ome-Nkeahuruanya) during the final ceremony of the Nwakali Unity football competition for all the four villages in Eziobodo, Owerri West L.G.A.

Ihedioha in his brief remarks shortly after taking the official kick-off ceremony of the grand finale of the Nwakali Cup 2017 edition at the wembly arena in Eziobodo urged the community to always stay in prayers for the two gifted players whom he said have brought laurels and great honour to them, the state and the nation at large.

He however prayed that like Emennel Amuneke, the Nwakali’s and others that have been discovered during the tournament will in time become mega stars and also contribute to the development of the area.

Nwakali who earlier in an interview with Trumpeta Sports Desk charged the authorities to help fund Heartland FC adequately maintained that it would motivate the eastern heartland side regain their pride in the elite league now they have won promotion back to NPFL.

The Arsenal prodigy who has been on loan to VVV Venlo of Holland while handing over the trophy to the winners of this year’s competition, Umuayo said the championship will continue to grow bigger by the year regretting that his village Ezibo was eliminated early enough.

The winners, Umuayo aside from the coveted trophy also received the sum of 450,000 while the winners-up, Umuezeala got 300,000 just as the 3rd placed team, Umuochem got 150,000 and Ezibo getting an xmas cash gift of N300, 000.
