One of the newest entrant in the race for 2019 Imo Guber, Hon Sir Prince Eleazar Ogbonna has charged Imo Youths on the need to take bold steps towards taking back their future.
In a recent chat with Sports Ambassador via telephone conversation, Hon Prince Eleazar Oyewuchi Ogbonna emphasized the need for the youths of Imo state to look beyond party affiliations and bias to work towards providing a new leadership in 2019 that would secure their future.
Hon. Sir Ogbonna was of the opinion that in the last couple of years, Imo indigenes especially the youths have allowed politicians to use them for their selfish purposes. The politicians have used money to influence the decision of the youths, thereby preventing them from demanding for their rights and privileges.
The youth have been made to believe that they are part of the political system while in actual sense all the politicians do is to use and dump the people. This situation has to change. He further described as unacceptable the situation where the people will throw away their future because of the little financial stipends and material items the politicians are using to blindfold them from reality and make them fight against one another.
Hon. Sir Ogbonna further advised the youths of the state to do away with partisan politics and focus on positive actions. He said whether they belonged to PDP, APC, APGA or any other political party, they should realize that their future is bigger and more important than any political party. Thus, they should look for leaders who have the interest of the people at heart.
The focus should be on how to reduce corruption to the barest minimum by ensuring that in 2019, the politician that have failed us should not be allowed to come back to position of leadership because most of them lack the integrity to sincerely lead the people.
Hon. Sir Ogbonna said it was as a result of this deplorable situation that he was offering his service to the good people of Imo state in 2019. As a young and visionary man, he is ready to ensure that the youths of the state are given their proper place in society by engaging them constructively in the affairs of the state.
He concluded by saying that the actions taken by Imo people today will determine if the future will be dark or bright.
