Even as Orsu Local Government Area chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) produced the member representing Orsu/ Orlu / Oru East Federal Constituency in House of Representing the state constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Jerry Alagbaoso and Bro Stan Dara, respectively, the party in the area is in turmoil.
Reports reaching Imo Trumpeta indicate that a top officer of the party and the state legal officer, Barr C. O. C Akaolisa is behind the impending doom befalling the party. According to the newspapers findings, the decision of Akaolisa to sideline some apex leaders of the party in the affairs of the Orsu chapter of the party is brewing rancor and division. Akaolisa is accused by some party faithfuls from the area of hijacking a recent party meeting of stakeholders to his private abode where he allegedly lashed at other “apex leaders of the party in the area for undisclosed reasons. While accusing the member representing the area in the state assembly, Hon Stan Dara of taking part in anti – party activities and backing the present administration to arm – twist the embattled local government chairmen and councilors in the struggle for who controls the councils, Akaolisa allegedly made scathing remarks about, Alagbaso, Dr Jeff Ojinika, Eze Festus Odimegwu and change of guard of woman leader of the party in the LGA.
Reacting to the allegations, Barrister Akaolisa said that it is unfortunate that people should be raising such baseless allegations “I don’t need to hijack PDP in Orsu since I am already a PDP state officer. My work for PDP in Imo state is bigger than Orsu”.
He further said that if he do his job as a PDP leader at the state level and go to his area and call a meeting that nothing is wrong with it.
“Those who are alleging that I am hijacking the party in Orsu are those who are anti – PDP working for APGA. They are those who don’t want PDP to grow in Orsu and this is unfortunate indeed.”
Akaolisa explained that the honourable member at the state legislature is at the house making laws for the people and that his function has nothing to do with his own.
Pointing out that the ward chairman, local government chairmen and other functionaries of the party are there to investigate issues.
