A onetime gubernatorial aspirant in Imo State and chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, Mazi Okechukwu Ukegbu has said that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has no relevance in Imo politics today as APGA remains the only party existing in the state.

Mazi Ukegbu who spoke to newsmen last Friday at Kanu Nwakwo sports complex in Owerri during a grand reception/rally to welcome decampee’s into the party, noted that the All Progressive Congress APC as a party is laughable owing to the current harsh economic climate they have plunged Nigerians into, especially Imolites.

He maintained that Imo state is very wealthy but with seemingly weak managers steering the affairs of the state, he condemned the erecting of Jacob Zuma’s statue in Imo state describing the honoree as unworthy.

The revered politician who revealed his intent ahead 2019 election stated that his interest is to help produce the next governor of Imo state as he has no intention to contest.

The APGA chieftain further maintained that he will support a credible candidate in 2019 from APGA so as to pave way for the youth.

Mazi Ukegbu welcomed the new members into the party noting that APGA remains large enough to accommodate all Nigerian’s and bridge the gap between the governed and government. He advised Imo people to participate in the continuous voter’s registration.

Meanwhile, the National Working Committee of APGA led by the Dr. Victor Oye has assured that the party will be void of Imposition as he welcomed decampees into APGA.
