The people of Awarra court area that comprises four oil producing autonomous communities like Obile, Assa, Ochia and Awarra ancient kingdom in Ohaji/Egbema L.G.A under the Oganiru Awarra have called on the Executive governor of Imo state Owelle Rochas Okorocha to appoint the State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC) Managing Director from their area.
This was part of resolutions made by the members of the group during their last general congress he1d last Saturday 28th October, 2017, in Owerri.
Presiding over the meeting, Dr. Isinwa Nickolas said the group stands for positive thinking people that have committed themselves for the betterment of their area.
He said Oganiru Awarra Court Area is not a political group but a mouth piece for their people who have decided to apply all necessary measures to pursue their rights.
He said that the four oil producing communities that have been marginalized by both the governments’ and oil companies in their areas as he however thanked governor Okorocha for his frequent attention in their area as they noted some problems facing the areas which includes; lack of electricity, drinking water, maintenance of roads etc.
They recalled their support for governor Okorochaand that led to his emergence in 2011 and 2015 general election, they assured to sustain their support and love for his administration.
The people appealed to Governor Rochas Okorocha to grant them the opportunity to serve in the capacity of ISOPADEC managing director through the appointment of a worthy son from Awarra court area as they narrated that only Awarra court area have not enjoy the in the Rescue Mission administration through political positions “we have been politically suffering in the hand of political hijackers that have continue the use of blackmail to sabotaging their relationship with the governor”.
The members of Oganiru Awarra Court Area noted that allocation of ISOPADEC managing director to their area will make them part of the of governor Okorocha led administration, create opportunity to consolidate Imo state governments’ efforts in provision of adequate security in oil region, the state and total actualization of governor Rochas Okorocha’s vision for the people of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta LGAs.
