OVER 100 CLERGIES STORM ISI MBANO FOR EIGHT SYNOD AS ARCHDEACON, OKWARA HARPS ON SPIRITUAL, SOCIO-ECONOMIC REVIVAL

The church of Nigeria Anglican communion, Ecclesiastical Province of Owerri on Tuesday 31st October 2017 marked the end of her third session of the eight synod.

Over 100 Anglican Priests participated in the annual event which took place at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Umuduru Archdeaconry, Isiala Mbano L.G.A, Imo State.

The synod which was captioned: The Time Of The Day And Needs Of The Hour began on Saturday 28th October 2017 witnessed the heavy presence of the Bishop of the Diocese of Isi-Mbano, His Lordship, The Rt .Reverend Godson Ukanwa, PhD,Jp, the Archdeacon of Umuduru, Ven.Paschal Uchenna Okwara among others.

Speaking with Newsmen on the essence of the eight synod, the Archdeacon of Umuduru, Ven. Okwara Paschal Uchenna described the synod as an annual platform structured to enable clergies, Bishops and Laity to deliberate on crucial issues bordering the church, Society and Government, which will in turn proffer solutions to myriad of problems affecting the church and the society.

Ven. Okwara said, “This is also the time the diocese tell the government its mind, because the church exist within the society, following the theme which was aptly chosen, ‘the time of the day and need of the hour’, a historical investigation looking a 1st chronicle 12 verse 22, all the deliberations in the bible is based on this particular passage challenging Christians to know what time and what process fits the era, and you know we are in the end time”

In an address, the diocesan Bishop, The Rt. Reverend Godson Ukanwa urged Christians to make use of time, adding that knowledge of time frame gives one an edge in various situations.

Bishop ukanwa said, ”Every age has its unique time and challenges and only those who understand this lead the way. The ability to correctly analyze contemporary situations is what leadership is all about. Those who have this quality tend to rise to the top by the grace of God and those who lack this understanding lag behind “

Also speaking, The Vicar, church of advent Mbeke parish, Rev Miracle Chinemerem said “ I am one of the hosts, it is a clarion call for Christians precisely to arise from their slumber”.
