The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Imo State Council has commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State for appointing Barr Emperor Iwuala as his Senior Special Assistant on Media.

This was contained in a recent goodwill message sent on behalf of the council by the council’s chairman Sir Innocent Igwe to Barr. Iwuala.

While appreciating the governor, Sir Igwe described the appointment as a recognition for hard work and competence. Part of the message reads thus:

‘I congratulate you on your most deserved appointment as Senior       Special Assistant (Media) to the Abia State Governor. This shows      how deeply appreciated and widely recognised your efforts have   been. I am proud of your sagacity and NUJ will continue to give you    every             support to succeed. We also commend Governor Ikepazu for this        show of special magnanimity to an Imo son… ’.

During the 2015 gubernatorial contest in Imo State, Sir Iwuala was also Director Media and Publicity to the campaign outfit of the governorship candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance Captain Emmanuel Ihenacho.

Reacting, Barr Iwuala thanked the governor for finding him worthy to serve his government. He also commended the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on General Duties Chief Junior Erondu for recommending him to the governor. He however, promised to bring his experience to bear in his service to the state.
