Worries Over Okorocha’s Boycott of Southern Governors Meet.
The absence of Imo State Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha at the meeting of governor’s from the Southern States have continued to generate ripples.
Governors from South East, South West and South met at the instance of the governor of Lagos, Akinwumii Ambode, who played host.
At the meeting which has nothing to do with political lining, brought governors from the state or either their representatives who met to discuss on a common issue. Though, it was a closed door meeting where issues of peculiar interest were discussed but very obvious was the absence of Okorocha.
Apart from his position as the chairman of APC governor in Nigeria, the Imo State governor is a ranking state chief executive and his absence at an event of such magnitude will say eyebrows.
The Imo State government is yet to issue a statement concerning the absence of the governor even as reports have it that Okorocha may have been engrossed with activities at the home front, especially the commonwealth parliamentary union of Africa where the state was the host.
Tongues have been wagging what could have made Okorocha to keep off the Southern Governor meeting considering his privileged position as a leader in Igboland.
