Keeping in line with their tradition of remembering and taking care of their own, the Ex- Enugu Rangers International Players Association Inc. USA have formerly extended an invitation one of the clubs foundation members, Mr George “Wagner”Okoro to their annual convention in the United States of Amercia on August 12, 2017.
The bi-annual event according to the invitation letter signed by the association Chairman and Secretary, Donald Igwebuike and Ikechukwu Ofoje respectively and made available to Trumpeta sports desk will afford them the opportunity to see and commiserate with their former team mates from all over the world. They however said it will take place at the Igbo Catholic Community Center, 8250 Creekbend Drive, Houston, TX77071.
Parts of the letter reads;
“This is a former letter of Invitation from Ex Enugu Rangers International Players Association, Inc. USA, for you to attend our annual convention in the United States.
“We will send a separate letter to the US consulate in Nigeria requesting appropriate Visa for your trip,” the letter emphasized.
It could be recalled that “Wagner” who recently served as Heartland FC team Manager apart from being a pioneer player of Rangers ahead to play for many clubs in the country between the 70’s and late 80s including the national team then known as Green Eagles alongside “Chairman” Christian Chukwu and Kelechi Emetole.
Some of the clubs he stared for includes Enugu Rangers Int’l, Abia textile Mill FC, Vasco Dagama of Enugu, Might Jets of Jos, Leventis United and Spartans FC to mention but a few.
Wagner who hails from Atani in Arochukwu LGA, Abia State was born in Jos, Plateau State where sojourned from transversing the length and breadth of the nation as he became a hot property in the game of football during his playing days.
