Following the arrest of suspected Boko Haram members in the South Eastern part of Nigeria, fear has crept up in the minds or residents of neighbouring Imo state who seem to be alarmed by the newsbreak of the arrest in Enugu.
The Directorate of State Services, DSS, through a statement by its public relations officer, Tony Opiuyo stated that its operatives have arrested members of the extremist group in Northern states including Enugu and Lagos adding that the heats meted on the Boko Haram group in the North Eastern part of the country has forced them to relocate to other parts of the country.
Boko Haram activities had centred on the North East part of the country until recent development where DSS revealed that its dragnets may have extended to the South West and South East states of Lagos and Enugu respectively.
The revelation has not gone down well with residents of state who discussed the development in hushed tones at different places in the state capital.
The residents, especially those in Owerri expressed fear that with high concentration of people from the North in the state capital, there could be security threat. They urged security agencies to brace up for the challenges ahead.
