Obazu Town Union Suspends Iroegbu Over Anti Community Activities

The apex-making body in Obazu Autonomous Community, Mbaitoli LGA, the Obazu Town Union, OTU has suspended Chief Iroegbu Victor and his co-hots from all activities of the community over what they termed anti-community activities.
According to a communiqué signed by the body after an emergency general meeting held an Saturday August, 22 at the Obazu Civic Hall, Amanwokpu, Obazu and endorsed by the President-General and his General Secretary, Chief Cyril N. Oparaeke and RTN Obinna Ononiwu, which was made available to Trumpeta, the following resolutions were reached; “that from the purported letters of the Eze, HRH Francis Elendu Agunwa, he did not and never mandated Chief Victor Iroegbu to represent or act for him, and that the acts and activities of Chief Victor Iroegbu by dissolving the National Executive Committee of the Obazu Union are null and void and of no effect whatsoever, as the Eze has no constitutional power to do so talk less of Chief Iroegbu” the statement read.
The communiqué further illustrated that the constitutional responsibility of summoning meetings rests squarely on the Secretary-General of the Union, on the advice of the President-General. It however placed suspension on all correspondences and activities of the Eze pending when he will return from overseas. It also advised the good people of Obazu and the general public to ignore any act taken by Chief Iroegbu and his co-hots in the matter branding them as power hungry people who want to enter the community’s government through the back door.
Making reference to the purported letters written by Eze Elendu to the Union PG as well as the invitation by the DSS Nwaorieubi to the PG over a petition by Chief Iroegbu as well as the purported meeting he (Iroegbu) summoned for stakeholders even when he has no constitutional powers to do so, the union reiterated their support and acknowledgement of the creation of new autonomous community from the existing Obazu Autonomous Community and also expressed their happiness over their resounding victory during the just concluded election of Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha and his amiable Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere as Governor and Deputy Governor of Imo State for the second tenure.
