As the nation wide league hostilities draws to a close this weekend, Pilo FC of Owerri is at the verge of securing promotion if they can win their last league match.
The Kanu ‘ Papilo’ Nwankwo sponsored club side that recently had a good run in this year’s Federation Cup Competition before they were knocked out by Taraba FC in the round of 32 games, currently has 20 points from 9 nine,matches and are seriously being trailed by Ebonyi FC with 18 points in Division Two C Log.
The battle for promotion into Division One by the two teams Pilo FC (Owerri) and Ebonyi FC (Abakaliki) may however be decided on the outcome of their last league encounters as Pilo FC will be guest to Patros FC in Njaba Stadium while Ebonyi FC will also be guest to Jimbaz FC of Anambra state
Pilo FC will need 3 points against Patros this weekend and the results elsewhere would not really matter but in an event they lose and Ebonyi FC go ahead to win in Anambra, the tide win swing in favor of the Abakaliki based team.
Reacting on the situation, team coordinator, Pilo FC, Raymond Ebede assured of his boys readiness to handle the situation insisting that they will be going for the three points which according to him will guarantee promotion for the team in their second attempt.
Meanwhile, Nigerian National League (NNL) side, Bussdor FC of Nkwere is currently facing relegation judging by their position on the log.
The team which regained promotion to the nations league second tier last season is however seriously under pressure to start winning games especially at home as well as avoid heavy defeats at away games in other to swim out of the relegation zone having been languishing at the bottom of the log since first stanza.
