Agents of Guber candidate Want Him tried In Court Following an exclusive disclosure on the last edition of Trumpeta newspapers which reported how bribe rocked Imo State chapter of the PDP during the last governorship primaries, further revelations are beginning to merge.
Trumpeta had reported that one of the aspirants who tried in vain to get the ticket has through his surrogates sent a petition to the Economic Finance Crimes Commission against a top member of the state Exco demanding for investigation on how foreign currency running into millions was fraudulently taken away from him.
However, This newspaper can authoritatively reveal that the scandal rocking the Imo State arm of PDP is revolving around the state chairman, Barr Nnamdi Anyaehie who has been allegedly accused of collecting money in foreign currency worth not less than N10m from Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, erstwhile PDP guber aspirant.
Trumpeta learnt in the latest theatre of absurdities that a supposed agent of Araraume and former lawmaker in the state, Hon Jasper Ndubuaku has petitioned the commissioner of Police, Imo State Command concerning the development.
In a report to the police on the matter date 9th June 2015, titled “Re-Report of Criminal of Criminal Misconduct by Nnamdi Anyaehie and S.A Anasho (Mrs), Ndubuaku claimed and told the police that,
“The Attorney General of the state has graciously asked me to apply for a fiat to prosecute those individuals (see copy also attached). I therefore plead that you use your good office to arraign these people in court to enable our lawyers take over the prosecution”.
It was however learnt that Ndubuaku had in a previous letter to Anyaehie on 9th June 2015 demanded for refund of #50,000, fifty thousand dollars allegedly from him for “logistics” a day after the conduct of the Dec 8, 2014, Imo PDP governorship primaries.
The Ndubaku letter reads thus; I write to demand that you please refund the sum of #50,000 dollars which you collected from me on 9th December, 2014. The day following the contentions PDP Governorship primary and your admittance that the result was manipulated against Senator Ifeanyi Araraume in favour of Hon Emeka Ihedioha by the returning officer”.
According to the letter to Anyaehie, Ndubuaku further alleged “you promised to write a letter to the National Headquarters of PDP in Abuja to correct the anomaly. Your demand for funds to take care of logistics and sundry travel expenses was met by me who brought to your office the sum of #50,000 Dollars in cash on the morning of 9th December.
“I am under pressure by my Associates at Olu Okigwe Assembly who made available the funds) to collect the money back from you since you did not do any of the things for which you were given the money for. I have been mandated by them to take all necessary legal steps to make this recovery, hence this letter”, Ndubuaku added.
However, when Trumpeta contacted Anyaehie, his phone rang without reply. But an associate of the part bus who spoke to Trumpeta said Anyaehie did not collect money from Hon Ndubuaku, but is being blackmailed for his transparency in his conduct of Imo PDP Governorship primaries.
