Every day they say is for the thief but one day for the owner of the house. This adage played up last week at Imo secretariat complex located along Port-Harcourt Road Owerri when a kin pin of car snatchers was nabbed in front of one of the blocks.
According to an eye witness, the security men at the place actually did a good job by thwarting and resisting the efforts of a two-man gang car snatchers from running away with a Sienna SUV belonging to a Rev Father.
Report has it that the Rev Father who was coming from Mbaise was being trailed by the hoodlums who followed him to the state secretariat where he went to make some transactions.
Luck ran against them when security men caught them red handed trying to take the car away.
One of them was lucky to escape while the other one met his waterloo when a security man grabbed him and prevented him from running away.
Aggrieved crowd at the secretariat almost burnt him but police came and rescued him.
The Public Relations Officer attached to the Head of Service who confirmed this report said proactive measures already have been taken to prevent missing of cars. All efforts made to contact the Police PRO in the State DSP Andrew Enwerem for more clarifications proved abortive as his line was not connecting as at the time of filing this report.
