Aftermath Of Exco Dissolution Fear Grips LGA Transition Committee Chairmen, Members

Transition Committee Members of the 27 LGAs in the state are at the moment living in fear following unconfirmed reports that they would join in the spate of dissolution hitting the political firmament in the state at the moment.
Okorocha had early this week sent packing all members of the enlarged Executive Council members as well as chairmen and members of all commissions and boards in the state.
The heat of removal has fallen on the heads of the council members who are reported to have systematically packed their belongings out of their various council secretariats awaiting the governor’s hammer.
Trumpeta was reliably informed that after sacking the Exco members, the TC chairmen will follow suit, according to the sequence of dissolution arranged by Okorocha on assumption of second tenure.
The TC chairmen, it was learnt would have been fired earlier but for the 2015 campaigns and the elections. To avoid bad blood, the council bosses were granted mercy to keep their positions until after swearing in of the governor for second term.
This newspaper further gathered that the governor was not comfortable with some career civil servants, like the Director of Administration and General Services, DGAs, acting as head of the councils in the absence of the TC Chairmen. Previous experiences Okorocha was said to have had with the DAGS when they were incharge forced the governor not to remove the chairmen until fresh ones are sorted out before appointment.
It was the impending removal that may have prompted the governor to no only starve some LGAs of funds and non provision of logistics to hold the 2015 May 27 children’s Day event .
Many LGAs in the state witnessed no action during the children’s Day Celebration as the TC Chairmen lamented absence of fund and government incentives to discharge their duties effectively. A major factor said to be responsible for the dissolution are the conduct and activities of some of the chairmen alleged to be involved in corrupt practices and anti-party actions during the elections. Some were reported to have allegedly embezzled council and campaign funds while working against interest of APC candidate during the elections.
The unfolding scenario is said to have put fear in the minds of the chairmen who are only marking time before their official dissolution when the governor returns this weekend.
