Imo Poly Rector Goes Tough On Erring Staff, Warns Against Illegal Fees

The Very Rev Fr Dr Wence Madu, Rector Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo, Ohaji has recently read riot act on lecturer, who collect illegal fees from student of the institution.
Speaking to journalists in his office in Umuagwo campus Fr, Madu noted that the Polytechnic runs full free education policy since the free education was introduced by the state the Governor, Rochas Okorocha.
Warning that any lecturer or staff of the institution caught in any form of illegal collection of fees from any student will leave the school with immediate effect, as regards to some students complaining of fees been collected from them by some lecturers and staff of the institution. The Rector stated that any such matter should be brought to his table by the student so that the person in question will answer for it.
However Fr Madu highlighted some of the achievements of the institutions since he became the Rector adding that over 43 years the institution came on board the present structures in the school is more befitting to measure what was on ground when he came in as the Rector of the institution.
The Rector further stated that the present era of his administration is fighting against corruption, Exam Malpractice and other social vices that can mar the institution.
He used the opportunity to advice students of the institution to read their books and also to go to the authority for clarification, for any payment, adding that the era of illegal collection of fees are over in the school as he stated that over a thousand of students were asked to go over poor performance in their result is.
