Mbaise Stakeholders Shun Okorocha Victory Party In Ahiazu

The last may not have been heard of the Mbaise nation and Governor Rochas Okorocha since after the 2015 general elections.
With the abysmal performance of some APC chieftains in the area during the last election, Trumpeta was informed that APC members in the area are accusing each other of betrayal. Some party loyalists have at different fora expressed their anger on their leaders including the Director General of Okorocha Campaign Organisation, Hon Barr Alaribe Ihukwumere.
The whole scenario came to light last Sunday when the governor visited Mbaise nation for a thank you party.
The governor from all indications enjoyed himself with his entourage but was surprised that his campaign DG and other stakeholders could not turn out to receive him.
The party which was held at the house of Chief P.C. Onuoha in Ahiazu Mbaise turned out to be a yardstick for assessment for APC leaders in the area.
Information revealed that even the council bosses of the three local government areas were unable to come.
APC loyalists in the area are pointing accusing fingers at most of their leaders for alleged sell-out during the election and this, according to the source, has brought about cold war between the leaders and governor and as a result the accused persons are said to have resolved to avoid the governor until the matter is properly settled.
However, the governor was said to have ignored all the differences and thanked all his followers in Mbaise for a job well done.
In his speech at the occasion, Governor Okorocha admitted that he scored up to 25% in Mbaise clan which, according to him, is up to two-thirds of the votes cast in the area.
He expressed satisfaction on the performance of APC and promised to give Mbaise people more democratic dividends.
He advised the aggrieved camp to give peace a chance adding that there is time for everything.
The governor who was not in a haste to leave the place further hinted that Mbaise people have shown him love. He praised Chief P.C. Onuoha for his great leadership in APC and prayed for his long life.
When contacted, the Transition Committee (TC) Chairman, Aboh Mbaise LGA, Hon Dr Victor Okpabia said the organisers did not inform him of the governor’s visit. He further said that he arrived the occasion late after his official engagement in Owerri.
Barr Alaribe in his own reaction disclosed that he worked hard during the elections. He described those attacking him as the work of opposition group who are accusing him for nothing sake. He advised Mbaise people to face realities of life and shun the activities of detractors.
