Govt Begins Recovery Of Stolen LGA Funds, As Fear Grips Transition Chairmen

Worried with the recent short fall in federal government allocation to state coupled with the economic meltdown.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has resolved to recover all stolen funds as one of the ways out from the current economic problems the recovery exercise is without delay.
Information revealed that the exercise is likely to begin with the recovery of Agric load which according to source was not properly disbursed.
The Agric load Board according to our source May be the first to face Okorocha’s wrath as his sledge hammer May fall on the Board members any moment from now.
It was alleged that the immediate past administration led by Chief Ikedi Ohakim wasted the Major part of the fund meant for the enhancement of Agriculture in the state. However the Governor is worried on how the remain part of fund was handled by the Board. The Governor who is said to have raised eye brows on wasted funds has ordered that the activities of the Boards should be audited.
In a related development the Governor has ordered for the review of the N68m given to council bosses as development fund.
According to directives leaders of various L.G.A’s were instructed to hold meeting with their T.C chairman to discuss the issue.
Following resolutions reached by leaders of various local government Areas, council bosses to give account of the N68M development fund given to them by the governor. It is expected that those who could not give good account on how they spent the money will be persecuted
The former T.C Chairman of Oguta LGA Hon Chuks Okoyia is said to have been summoned by SSG Prof Anthony Anwuka and other leaders in the area to come and render his own account of the N68m, as was agreed in a breakfast meeting held in the SSG’s office last Saturday.
The members described the absence of the former T.C chairman, the current T.C chairman Louis Obodo and the party’s chairman (APC) In Oguta Hon Casmir Ohamara as unfortunate.
