A member of the Okewulonu family and one of the emerging political forces in Obowo Local Government Area, Hon Basil Okewulonu, has admonished the Okigwe South Federal House of Reps-elect, Deacon Chike Okafor over his resounding victory and that of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Obowo LGA, Imo House of Assembly (IMHA), Okigwe South Federal Constituency, Imo State guber and the presidential elections.
Speaking to Trumpeta, Hon Okewulonu stated that since 1999 till date, Obowo has been experiencing imposition of candidates by one or two political bigwigs that think they will always determine the fate of Obowo people.
In his words, “Thank God for Deacon Okafor who came into Obowo politics and joined us to say no to imposition of candidates by empowering our youths and flooding our LGA with infrastructure from the state government.
“My happiness is that we Obowians know where we are going at any particular time politically.” Hon Basil Okewulonu expressed.
He however noted that an average Obowo man is a practicing politician and cannot be deceived with peanuts from our deceptive leaders.
Hon Okewulonu also revealed that Deacon Okafor was able to achieve all the monumental projects from the government through Barr Kennedy Ibeh, the Obowo LGA House of Assembly Member-elect who he said is a worthy representative.
According to the Obowo-born emerging political guru, the recently concluded general elections especially in Avutu and Obowo at large shows that the progressives have taken over the political arena in the LGA adding that Obowians can never go back to Egypt.
Papa as he is fondly referred to by friends and colleagues took time out to also congratulate His Excellency the governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his amiable and dynamic leadership qualities which he said endured him to achieve all the gigantic infrastructural, capital and human developmental strides in the past four years, pointing out that the team of Barr Ibeh, Deacon Okafor and Gov Rochas Okorocha will surely take Obowo, Okigwe South and Imo to the promised land.
