TRAILER FAILS BREAK – CRUSHES SIX KEKE NAPEPS.

BY

ORJI SAMPSON, LEMOHA EMMANUEL.

What would have been a massacre of lives on Wednesday yesterday morning was miraculously averted by divine intervention, as occupants of six Keke cabs,  smashed escaped death by whiskers beyond repair without any loss of life.

The accident which occurred right in front of the state Water Board office alongOkigwe Roadis reported to have taken place at about 8 :15am.

Narrating the incident to Imo Trumpeta¸ one of the victims, a young lady in her teens, who was heading to Eke Onunwa market to make purchases for their mini market in Orji, explained that they were inside one of the Keke waiting to be passed by the traffic wardens when suddenly there was a collusion from behind and the next thing they saw was a trailer which had apparently failed its break crushing every object in front of it.

The lady who pleaded anonymity stated that the moving trailer eventually crushed six Keke along with a 504 salon car before it was finally stopped by another trailer that was motionless by the road side.

She however, thanked God that all the occupants of the crushed Keke escaped death but rather sustained minor injuries.

When Imo Trumpeta got to the scene of the accident, the incident had already created a serious traffic holdup alongOkigwe Road by IMSU junction as motorists found it difficult to navigate their way to their various destinations.

One of the Road safety officials who were on hand to clear the road for easy passage of vehicles said the trailer brakes must have failed resulting to the unavoidable accident.

It would be recalled that just last week, another heavy duty truck crushed a blackToyotajeep just at IMSU junction. It has become a reoccurring decimal for trailers and heavy duty vehicles to fail brakes and cause lots of damage around IMSU junction and along the same Okigwe road.
