Imo: PDP not in Opposition – Sen. Uzodimma

The Senator representing Orlu senatorial zone and the Chairman Senate Committee on Aviation, Chief Hope Uzodimma “Onwa” at the weekend, stated that Imo PDP is not in opposition.  Uzodimma disclosed this to journalists at theImoPDPStatesecretariat during the party’s build up to the last Saturday’s.  Oguta State Constituency re – run election which the party had a landslide victory to confirm Senator Uzodimma’s stand.

In his analysis, Senator Uzodimma, submitted that for the fact that PDP did not produce the sitting governor which they lost by mere accident, does not in any way make them an opposition party “We are in the majority, just that we don’t have a PDP governor, we are the majority in the National Assembly representative from Imo state, even in the State Assembly before inauguration, we have the government at the national level, that means we are on the majority.  The Omuma – born – Senator went further to say that the government belong to PDP not the other way round and commended party faithful in Imo for keeping to the philosophy of the Party which is being law abiding and following due process.

On the Oguta election, Chief Uzodimma, the South – East zonal chairman of PDP, Rt. Colonel Akobundu and a party Chieftain Bar. Okpaleke were not in doubt of the party’s victory at the re – run, relying on the marketable candidate Irona, presented by the party, the commitment of the concerned electorate to vote for their choice candidate who is of PDP and the wide margin edge in favour of PDP from the previous election.

However, their confidence was vindicated with a landslide victory of their candidate, Hon Irona who pulled a total of 15,338 as against the 3,401 of the first runner up APGA.
