Mandate to Serve Imolites Is A Call For Sacrifice says Okey Eze

With proceedings’ of the Governorship/State House of Assembly election on going last Saturday in Imo, views of respected politicians and electorates were sampled to ascertain their level of satisfaction with the various candidates that emerged for the polls.
The factional gubernatorial aspirant of All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, Mr. Okey Eze stated that Elections/Electioneering is not a do or die affair, but the mandate to serve the masses which he described as Honourable for the victor and a call for sacrifice, haven been found credible to enhance democratic dividend.
Mr. Okey Eze who stated this in a chat with News men at his polling booth in Community Primary School Obohia of Ahaiazu Mbaise Imo State stressed that politics is not a means for enriching one’s self despite the fact the political system of Nigeria is so monetized, some politicians like himself see the peoples mandate as a call to consistently make emphatic sacrifices and therefore need not to consider it as a do or die affair.
He recalled that his campaign projects were critical steps toward a new dimension and it’s by no means over, he noted that his interaction with Imolite during his campaign tour enable him experience firsthand areas of interventions that are needed to be put in place to raise the people’s standard of living, “To aspire for leadership is not for sense of entitlement but for passionate vision through articulated programme to effect change, we are still on course” he said.
Mr. Okey Eze who earlier spoke on the election process in his booth maintained that through proper sanitization, the people are very much aware of the right process towards ensuring a credible election, “What is strange is when people do the wrong things during election, doing the right thing is just” he concluded,
Mr. Okey Eze advised youths not to take laws into their hands and urged them to obey the rules and regulations of the process to make the best outcome of the elections.
