Last Saturday Governorship election in Imo state has left great surprises and shock to some self acclaimed leaders of the various political parties whose poor showing in the result from their polling booths has remained issues of discuss.
In Owerri North Local Government Area, the likes of former commissioner and Special Adviser to Governor Rochas Okorocha Hon Nick Oparandudu, Dr Amaechi and Chief Udo Agoha are among the APC leaders who may now be asking themselves questions why they lost in their various booths.
Another bigwig in the political equation of Owerri North who should also be asking question why she also lost is the former Minister, Ambassador and National Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Ambassador Dr Kema Chikwe.
Incidentally Ambassador Chikwe hails from the same INEC booth and ward with the Chief of Staff to Governor Okorocha, Sir Jude Ejiogu who floored the PDP woman leader in her booth. Record available ha s it that it has always been battle royal among this prominent sons of Emekuku in this booth 6 and 7 of ward 1 as they have continued to operate from opposing political parties since the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.
It is on record though, that perhaps because of the towering political image of Sir. Jude Ejiogu and his allies in that booth and ward, Ambassador Chikwe has not been able to make any significant mark during elections in the area as she has consistently lost to Sir Jude Ejiogu’s side each time election are conducted in the area.
