Okorocha Shocks APC Aspirants, Shortlists Candidates For Party Primaries

Governor Rochas Okorocha Sunday evening blast many APC party leaders and aspirants over the mock primaries conducted at various Local Government Areas of Imo State.
Addressing stakeholders of Imo APC at Government House Sunday the Governor Expressed disappointment on the way things are going on in the political circle.
He described some Aspirants from various Local Government Areas vying for state and federal House as inconsequential and unpopular to win the opposition party in the 2015 election.
While the meeting was going on, Governor Okorocha shortlisted the prominent aspirants and asked those he considered as inconsequential to step down immediately and allow the party to move forward in all the local government areas, our source hinted that the Governor hand-picked APC flagbearers for the House of Assembly position.
From the handpicked-list, Hon Chinedu Ofor, Uche Ejiogu, Victor Ihenacho, Acho Ihim topped the list of state House of Assembly.
From the list of federal House of Representatives Hon TOE Ekechi, Hon Tony Umezuruike, Henry Ike also topped the list of the chosen ones.
That of senate was not concluded.
From the look out of things, APC primaries for now are for formality.
Our reporter, who monitored APC activities over the weekend, revealed that the drama stated on Saturday at concord Hotel Owerri when some frontline APC aspirants were shocked by the screening committee.
It was a surprising package to hear that Attorney Mathew Nwoga aspiring for Aboh Mbaise-Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency seat was screened out. Other aspirants who left with disappointment include, Hon Emeka Okonkwo who is aspiring for Okigwe state House of Assembly and Mr Hyacinth Orji aspiring for Onuimo State Assembly.
Mr Orji who spoke to newsmen shortly after receiving the surprising package said he has already seen the hand writing on the wall.
According to him, Chinedu Offor, the former commissioner for information wants to grab the ticket by all means.
He therefore vowed that APC will lose in Onuimo if the eventually make the mistake of presenting Hon Offor as flag bearer 8 man screening committee.
While at Concorde Hotel during the presentation of certificates to successful aspirants explained that those who were screened out have the option of complaining to the appeal committee.
It was further revealed that the unsuccessful aspirants had one problem or the other that prevented them from getting their certificates.
Some impatient aspirant who felt humiliated and cheated is now on their way to join the opposition to battle Okorocha and his men.
Governor Okorocha has earlier stated that any politician who felt marginalized in APC is free to join the opposition party to try his or her luck adding that he can not please everybody.
