Shoot-Out In Govt House, Owerri Security Personnel Fires At Protesters For Crossing Perimeter Barricade

Serious danger was said to have been averted by security operators at Imo Government House Owerri last week.
The story has it that group of youths stormed Imo Government House in pretence that they came on demonstration; they presented their agitations and were well attended to by the officials. Along the line some of the aggrieved youths who said they came for political demonstration started misbehaving and went astray to cause trouble at Imo Government House.
At a particular point they started fighting each other with dangerous weapons. While the fight was going on some pushed forward and encroached into the inner gate and this provoked the security agents.
The Chief Security officer of Imo Government House who got wind of the disturbances came out in full force and prevented them from causing serious damages by crossing the perimeter Barickate.
Gun shots were allegedly fired to scare the boys away and to secure the premises completely.
Since then, securities at Imo Government House have been beafed up as the security personnel have placed eagle eyes on every movement around the place.
It was later revealed that they boys suspected a foul play by their leaders and as a result they decided to fight them with weapons.
Some government officials who spoke under strict anonymity to our reporter alleged that it was the opposition group that sponsored the boys.
