Fresh facts have emerged reasons why the Imo State arm of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, is yet to make public lists of names of those selected in their various wards as the three-man ad-hoc delegates for the 2015 election primaries.
Trumpeta was informed by top party sources at the state secretariat that some factors are behind the present situation.
While confirming that the official list will be publicized any moment, the party is of the opinion that certain factors need to be considered before making it public.
According to the sources, complaints from different quarters which needs to be properly handled as well as the need to contain outpouring grievances can be said to be responsible.
“We are being careful about it to avoid implosion. You know this is party politics”, began a top official of the party who preferred anonymity, over the issue.
“You know complaints have been trailing the exercise and as a party with the interest of all members we are handling the issue to please all. The congress has come and gone, it behooves on members to take the outcome in good faith them unnecessary bickering.
There is no more ahead and we have a tough battle too, he added.
Confirming the development, the new publicity secretary of the party in the state Hon Kizito Onuoha in a telephone chat disclosed that the list may have been out but the party chairman, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie is still in Abuja handling the matter concerning delegates.
Onuoha, however charged aspirants to go about their normal activities of canvassing for support from delegates adding that the official delegates list will be made available and displayed.
“The state party chairman, Barr Anyaehie is in Abuja for that purpose, as soon as he is back, the Delegate list will be officially made public,”, he noted.
