With fourteen days left for the Governorship Aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC to fill and submit their forms, the party in Imo state is yet to get a single Aspirant indicate interest in the position.
Although the final date to submit the forms was yesterday, the APC hierarchy has changed the date to November Friday 21, 2014, as part of the revised time table to enable interested Aspirants to buy the forms, fill and submit.
Trumpeta learnt that APC Aspirants for the Governorship seat in Imo state have all developed cold feets in showing interest in the position, as they believe that the incumbent Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha will vie for a second term in office despite foot-dragging on the matter.
However, Gov Okorocha has kept Imo APC members waiting and confused as he is yet to make up his mind to run for the Governorship seat or the Presidency, therefore putting Imo APC followers in a quagmire on what to do, even as the final day for submission of Guber forms is now fourteen (14) Days away, thanks to revised time table that extended the new date of submission.
Though Governor Okorocha is touted to be eyeing the Presidency, but there are indications that he will in the end gun for Imo Governorship again in 2015.
Last week, Okorocha had told his Aides at Government House, Owerri, during the swearing-in of new Commissioners that he will run for a second term, but was only using a decoy to confuse his opponents in the race, especially those in Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
However, a few days after the Government House ceremony, Owelle Okorocha was in Kaduna, Kaduna State attending a meeting of Arewa Youths urging him to join the Presidential race. Since after the Kaduna outing, nothing has been again heard from Okorocha as to whether he was gunning for the pPesidential slot of APC or still interested in the Imo Governorship race.
This unpredictable and unsteady attitude exhibited by Okorocha on the issue of 2015 election has confused even his most trusted allies, as none of them can confidently confirm what really their Boss wants as the Delegate and Primary elections of APC approach.
Meanwhile, Okorocha’s old campaign office located at Okigwe road Owerri is under-going a face-lift. But whether it will serve as his Guber campaign headquarter, or Imo state Presidential campaign office, is still difficult to decipher, as the politician continues to play hard to be decoded, as many fear that he may in the end dribble himself into a state of confusion if care is not taken.
However, the next fourteen days will surely confirm what Okorocha really want; either he finally declares for Imo Guber race, or Presidential seat aspiration.
