Pman Task Force Takes Off In Imo …As Herbert Udemba Goes Home October 3rd

In a press release made available to Trumpeta Extravaganza, the anti piracy and other related offences task force of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN will take off next month, October 2014.
It stated that the governor of Pman in Imo State Chief Chris Chikere has advised all musicians to cooperate with the members of the task force headed by a retired police officer, Jerry Chukwu.
Governor Chikere further said the essence of the task force is to recover some revenue of the union which has been wasting away over the years while the union has been needful of funds to carry out its activities adding that hoteliers, restauranteurs, disc jockeys and musicians have one due or the other to pay the union in line with constitution of the union.
Meanwhile, PMAN Imo State Chapter has condoled the family of their late, member, Obilobi Herbert Obijuru Udemba who passed on recently at their ripe age of 85 years.
According to a press release, PMAN confirmed that Obilobi Herbert Obijuru Udemba A.K.A African Baby boy will be buried on Friday October 3rd 2014 after an all night wake-keep in his honour by all Imo musicians on Thursday 2nd October, 2014 at his Oduagu street residence, Umuoronjo, Owerri, Imo State.
Speaking while on a condolence visit to the bereaved family last Wednesday, the governor of PMAN in Imo State Chief Chris Chikere who led a delegation of some prominent musicians in the state paid glowing tributes to Obilobi Herbert Udemba.
Chief Chikere enjoined the family to take solace in the fact that their father Ndaa Herbert Udemba of the African Baby boy fame died at the ripe age and has left his footprints on the sands of time, particularly in the music industry where he was a recognized legend.
He said the music of Herbert Udemba African Baby boy, is a house hold song which had inspired many musicians in Imo State, Nigeria and indeed Africa.
Chief Chris Chikere assured the family that Imo musicians will play on the night wake keeping in honour of the late star whose light according to the governor will never dim.
Among those at the condolence visit were the state secretary, Austin madu, Chief Ferdinand Dansatch Opara of the Oriental brother’s fame, Nze Dan Orji, Nze Bob Tee, Jerry Chukwu and Chuks Nnadi ekwe of the Orlu brother’s fame.
