Fresh political rivalry is brewing in Orlu zone PDP following different tunes of political songs blown by the members of the party in the zone.
Apparently worried over the actions of the Senator representing the zone in the upper National Assembly Senator Hope Uzodinma, a group of stakeholders said to be led by the former governor of Imo state, Achike Udenwa, met at his Amaifeke home to chart a new course for PDP in the area as well express reservation about the conduct of Senator Uzodimma and state party chairman, Nnamdi Anyaehie, who is also from Orlu zone.
It was disclosed that since the Senator assumed the position, he has never showed his face or expressed concern in any gathering or meeting relating to the zone. However, they went down history lane to point out that the past Senators, Chief Dr Arthur Nzeribe and Senator Osita Izunaso never acclaimed to be a leader and sole judge in the affairs concerning the zone which according to the stakeholders said the sitting Senator, Uzodimma is parading himself high as an over all leader who can dictate to the zone what should be done.
The party big wigs at the meeting voiced that a single being in the likes of Uzodimma cannot and will never supersede the general body comprising of strong men and women of goodwill with a respectable background, they beat their chests that they won’t allow such ugly scenario repeat in 2015 at both gubernatorial, senatorial, National and State Assembly seats.
At the end of the gathering a delegation comprising Chief Chyna Iwuanyanwu, Nze Elvis Agukwe, Hon Bonny Ebili, Hon Obinna Okwuaka among others to pay a solidarity visit to the state party chairman, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie who happens to be an Orlu son in a course to ascertain the actual problem the sitting Senator amounting to his absence to meetings concerning the zone in line with the 12 LGA chairmen of the party.
As part of their readiness to better PDP in Orlu zone and the state, they suggested the setting up of a comprehensive Data base which will capture all Orlu sons and daughters in the party, and in addition sensitize the grassroots hoping that the strategy will help to fight the incumbent in Douglas House. Come 2015 which is fast approaching, climax at the meeting was a consensus reached by the majority of the people who selected Chief Achike Udenwa, Dr Douglas Acholonu, Nze Imo Umunna as the leader, Deputy and Secretary respectively from the zone to serve as guides who would also pilot and the affairs of the party, and members in the zone. In his acceptance speech, the leader, Chief Udenwa admonished the members to rise up to the challenges ahead 2015 elections, such as guber election so as to stressing that the zone will not make a hasty decisions on issues avert what could be regretted in the future.
Present at the meeting were; Chief Achike Udenwa, Dr Douglas Acholonu, Nze Imo Umunna, Nze Elvis Agukwe, Chyna Iwuanyanwu, Hon Obinna Okwuaka, Hon Bonny Ebili, Hon ThankGod Ezeani, Hon Eze Amaouwa among other bigwigs.
