The dates for the final round of matches in the 2011/12 Nigeria Premier league (NPL) season is still shrouded in mystery as there are unresolved cases involving matches among several clubs.
The disciplinary committee of the Nigeria Football federation (NFF) met yesterday to decide on such out standing cases before the season can come to a close.
Chairman of theNigeriaPremier league (NPL), Baribote Victor Ramson said it is important for the committee to see that all cases are satisfactory dealt with, for things to go smoothly in the league.
“By Friday we will have a clearer picture as to when the last two matches will be played. This will ensure that we have credible champions at the end of the season,” Rumson said.
Baribote did reveal that the committee will sit on Wednesday to deliberate on the outstanding cases but could not confirm the exact number of cases at the moment.
The NPL Chief However was certain the sitting will not exceed 48hrs.
He also confirmed that the committee would be working vigorously to see that all cases are dealt with within that period.
It is however difficult to understand if the NFF’s appeals committee will also be fast enough to sit on the appeals that may be made by the clubs unfavoured by the decisions of the NFF O and D committee.
The NPL had stated that dates for the final two rounds of matches would be announced as soon as the committee concludes its sitting.
