Police May Declare MASSOB Leader, Uwazuruike Wanted Over Death of Two at Okwe As FG Commences Payment of Ex-Biafran Soldiers Pension

police flagImo Police Command has given the leader of Movement For Actualization of Sovereign state of Biafra MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazurike until today to report to the command to give account of what happened to alleged two members who were killed at Uwazurike’s premises or be declared wanted.
According to the Imo Police PPRO, on Wednesday August 20,2014, the Police Command received information that there was fracas at the MASSOB camp located at Okwe, in Onuimo local Government Area, Imo State.
The Police further stated that information revealed that the MASSOB Leader, Chief Ralph Uwazurike “had issues on money sharing with his Onuimo MASSOB Group”
The statement went on to say that Uwazurike who felt slighted thereafter invited the Onitsha sector of MASSOB which stormed Onuimo and in attempt to flush out the Onuimo Group, fracas ensued which led to a bloody clash among the MASSOB followers.
After the fight, it was stated, two bodies laid dead, while many others sustained different shapes of injuries.
Following the resultant development, the Imo Police Command extended invitation to Uwazurike to appear before it to make clarifications on the incident, which if he fails would be declared wanted.
“The MASSOB leader Chief Uwazurike has been invited for clarification on the incident and failure to report will result to his been declared wanted by the police” the Release stated.
Meanwhile Nigerian Soldiers who defected and fought for Biafra during the Nigerian civil war from 1967 to 1970 have been granted the payment of their pension.
According to the chairman of the military pension board, Air Commodore Mohamed Dabo who revealed this when the Minister for Defence, Senator Muslim Obanikoro payed a courtesy call to his office in Abuja stated that out of the numerous names received, over 160 have so far been successfully placed on the pay roll.
