Imo Security Network Operatives (ISN), have continued to showcase their competency in the area of crime fighting.
Trumpeta gathered that the ISN workers swung into action at the early hours of Tuesday to rescue a female police officer who was abducted by suspected criminals and kept under a spell while in hostage.
The story has it that the suspected criminals came into Owerri in disguise as foreigners. The victim, a female police woman named Uduak Achibong of junior rank said she ignorantly entered a keke (tricycle) at a particular junction on Douglas road but was unfortunate to meet the con men inside the keke.
Narrating her ordeal, the female police officer said she was approached by one of the three boys she met inside the keke but at first she ignored his approach. The fellow, she said, continued to beg her for a help in pretence that he was dumped by his girl friend. After several appeals, the police lady accepted to give the guy the N5,000 naira he demanded and from that point they hoodlums who may have bewitched her with talisman dragged her to a place claiming that they want to see a Rev. sister. On getting there, according to the lady, the story changed. They suspected bad boys tricked her with some of their talisman which one of them displayed. Uduak said she became confused, lost consciousness and her way and thereafter, according to her, the keke man she trusted betrayed the trust and before she realized that the keke man was part of the racket have taken her to one bush in Agbala, Owerri North, LGA where she finally became stranded. While she was demanding for pay back of the money, the story became worse, she was told at that point that the N5,000 she brought is to enable them buy chemical from their master for a “money doubling” business which they are into. At that point the bad boys who claimed to be foreigners brought N40,000 to complete the one she gave them
According to the police woman, they forced her to bring another N5,000 to help them so that their master can release the comical which is sold at N50,000. Explaining further, she said she refused giving them any other money and after mounting several pressure on her, they abandoned her at the bush and ran away. Thereafter, the lady said she became helpless and stranded.
She however managed to escape from the bush and on her way out, she said met Security Network Operatives and complained to them and they went after the hoodlums. The ISN caught one and others escaped.
One of the suspects who is now in security net in the course interrogation, confessed that they actually dumped the police officer. He begged to refund all that they took from the police lady.
The special Adviser to the Governor on security matters, Hon Fidel Onyeukwu when contacted vowed that his boys will go after the run away criminals believed to be committing unwholesome acts in Imo.
He advised Imolites to be very careful on the Keke and buses they enter adding that every citizen of the state should now be security conscious.
The rescued police officer later thanked God and Imo Security Network for saving her life. The lady police officer who hails from Akwa Ibom praised the state security outfit.
