Perhaps piqued by the alleged shoddy deals involving some staff of the Imo State Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Development Over Land Speculation, the Imo state commissioner of police has dragged three staff of the ministry to court.
In a suit number OW/43C/2014 before her Lordship Justice Mrs Isiguzo of Owerri Magistrate Court 1 between the Imo state Commissioner of Police against Ogwunga Basil Emeka, Emezuruike Jude and Echefu Adaku, the three staffers of the state Ministry are charged for conspiracy which is said is punishable in Law.
In the seven count charge, the commissioner of police claimed that, “That you Ogwunga Basil Emeka “M”, Emezuruike Jude “M”, Echefu Adaku “F” and Amakama Cyril “M”, now at large on the 10th and 13th day of December 2012 at Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning Owerri in the Owerri Magisterial District did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit concealing deeds and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 516 of the criminal code cap 30 vol. 11 Laws of Eastern Nigeria 1963 as applicable in Imo state”.
That you Ogwunga Basil Emeka’m’, Emezuruike Jude’m’ Echefu Adaku “F” and Amakama Cyril ‘m’ now at large at the same place in the aforesaid Magisterial District did with intent to defraud conceal an index card document which is evidence of title of land in plot C6/98 situate at Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri to give undue advantage to Vantage Engineering Ltd Over Carlin Concept International Nigeria Ltd being the supposed original owner of Plot C6/98 which is under the management of one Ahumaraeze U. Sabastine ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 393 of the of the criminal code cap 30 Vol. II laws of Eastern Nigerian 1963 as applicable in Imo State.
That you Ogwunga Basil Emeka ‘m’, and Hon. Nwagba Maurice Gozie ‘m’ Uche Iheagwaram ‘m’ now at large on the 10th December 2012 to 13th December 2013 at Plot, C6/98 situation at Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri in the Owerri Magisterial District did steal five bundles of zink value N75,000.00, 100 pieces of 2 by 4 woods value N85,000.00, 150 pieces of 2 by 2 woods value N67,000.00 and 20 pieces of fixer board woods value N30,000.00 total property stolen value N257,000.00 property of Carlin Concept International Nigeria Ltd under the management of one Ahumaraeze U. Sabastine ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 390(9) of the of the criminal code cap 30 Vol. II laws of Eastern Nigerian 1963 as applicable in Imo State.
That you Ogwunga Basil Emeka ‘m’, and Hon. Nwagba Maurice Gozie ‘m’ Uche Iheagwaram ‘m’ now at large on the 10th December 2012 to 13th December 2013 at Plot, C6/98 situation at Onitsha Road Industrial Layout Owerri in the Owerri Magisterial District did willfully and unlawfully damage three portions of tall fence wall, value N400,000.00, one iron gate value N300,000.00, four rooms apartment house value Nl,500,000.00 total property damage value N2,200,000.00 two million, two hundred thousand naira property of Carlin concept international Nigeria Limited under the management of one Ahumaraeze U. Sabastine m’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 451 of the of the criminal code cap 30 Vol. II laws of Eastern Nigerian 1963 as applicable in Imo State.
Further hearing on the matter has been adjourned till Monday July 6, 2014 while the accused persons were bailed with the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) each with two sureties.
