Wahala! Ohakim’s Former Aide Smashes Imo Ex -Commissioner’s Head How on The Run Suspect Used Champagne Bottle to Attack Victim

A former Special Adviser to Ex-Governor of Imo State Chief Ikedi Ohakim and a chieftain of Owerri Zone Political Leaders Forum OZOPOLF (names withheld) has gone into hiding to evade police arrest following an incident which led to the battering of a former Commissioner in a fight which ensued after a heated argument between the Owerri zone top politicians.
According to Trumpeta findings, the former Commissioner is still recuperating from a private hospital in Owerri, while efforts are being made to nab the suspect who is said to have fled Imo state.
It was learnt that the former Commissioner from Owerri West LGA, who served under Governor Achike Udenwa’s administration is still in pains and posing a problem to Doctors battling to save his life.
This Newspaper learnt that the rough incident which has remained the talk in town among political bigwigs took place a few days ago.
An eye witness told Trumpeta that the Mbaitoli LGA born suspect attacked the Ex-Commissioner with an empty bottle of champagne.
Narrating the incident to Trumpeta, the eye witness said that the assault on the former Commissioner took place in a private residence of a top politician in Owerri.
Stating further, the source disclosed that there was a meeting to deliberate on the political developments in Imo state, which was attended by the former Commissioner and the Ex-Special Adviser to Ohakim.
In the process, an issue came up for discussion, and the Owerri West LGA born Ex-Commissioner cautioned the House of Representatives Aspirant to watch his manner of approach in addressing people, especially those who are his senior both in age and politics.
This, it was learnt, infuriated the OZOPOLF chieftain who in a flash of lightening grabbed an empty bottle of champagne and smashed it on the fore-head of the urbane-looking former Commissioner, who was taken by surprise.
He was said to have fallen on his back, in a pool of his blood, which frightened those in the meeting. Some of them took to their heels, while those who could brave it stayed behind, and ferried the Ex-Commissioner to a private hospital, where he is said to be recuperating now.
His attacker was said to have jumped into his car and sped off, and has not been sighted in Owerri since then.
Trumpeta learnt that the matter has been reported to the police who are now on the trail of the politician, said to have fled to Abuja to avoid arrest.
When Trumpeta called the Ex-Commissioner yesterday, he picked his call but said he was recuperating, although still in pains.
All calls put across to the former Aide to Ex-Governor Ohakim bounced back as all his lines were switched off.
Meanwhile police sources could not deny or confirm the story but said it would reach Trumpeta for further information after thorough investigation.
