A political oriented organization known as Vote Rochas Club (VRC) of Orlu Senatorial zone and state Executive members paid a courtesy call on the mayoral office of the zone yesterday where thy spoke with full conviction that come rain, come sunshine they will stand solidly behind their great party, All Progressive Congress (APC), the Executive Governor of Imo State, Gov Rochas Okorocha and the mayor of Orlu zone, Hon Dr Goddy Esom Obodo in the next political dispensation without any bad feelings.
Commenting, Engr Callistus Chinedu (CJK) stated that Vote Rochas Club was formed for the purpose of bringing good governance in the state through competent hands, ensuring sustainability of transparent government as well as deeprooting the club in all the nooks and crannies of the state, which he said started from the polling booths, wards and local governments for popular awareness before its elevation to the state level. He further noted that the club since its inception has registered over 10,000 active members in the state, stressing that before the expiration of a month, the zonal coordinators of the club will be duly inaugurated to strengthen it the more for the task ahead. Moreso, Engr Callistus added that the success of the body was also made possible by the mayor whom he referred to as a green light and a great achiever and solicited the assistance of the mayor ahead of their preparations to enable them function effectively.
Also speaking, the state woman leader of Vote Rochas Club, Lady Mrs Gladys Agunenye expressed delight for the gift of the Major who has been a source of support to them, stating that with the caliber of men and women in the club, they will not go back in supporting the Rescue Mission Government to any position it deems fit to ascend.
She added that the performing Governor, Okorocha as a true son of Orlu zone will always have their supports when called upon.
In their separate speeches, the secretary VRC Orlu zone, Ezinna Patrick Nwadike, Dr. Chris Chukwuemeka Ekwueme and Engr Uche Agabige (IMHA hopeful of Orsu LGA 2015) added that in the tripod stand of Imo State, Orlu zone is always regarded as the giant, restating that it is a glaring fact that God blessed the zone with reputable sons and daughters which Governor Rochas Okorocha chairs. Enumerating further, they pointed out that Vote Rochas Club which was formed as a resolve of the pragmatic achievements of Okorocha will keep on exhibiting the good qualities they are known with promises to the mayor of their unalloyed supports in cognizance with his National Assembly ambition of 2015.
Responding, the mayor of Orlu zone and also the House of Representatives hopeful of 2015 under APC, Hon Dr Goddy Esom Obodo (Prince of the oil kingdom) thanked the leadership of Vote Rochas Club for deeming it fit to call on him for familiarization. He stated that the club is an association driven out of love and achievements just as the Rescue Mission has achieved within a space of 3years. The hopeful vociferated that he has been in government severally, but opined that the present administration is unique. However, he juxta-posed that the 10,000 jobs of the past administration was created without vacancy which he said the Governor in his magnanity and love for Imolites corrected by creating 25,000 youth must work programmes with effective appointment which is still shaking the grounds of Imo and neighbouring states.
“I am ready and determined to see that Rochas Okorocha, our dynamic and performing Governor succeeds comes 2015 political dispensation. He has all it takes to lead this country. His leadership pedigree has passed that of other State Governor and very soon, the opposition will learn from Vote Rochas Club and APC, because APC is an embodiment of positive change.” Dr Obodo concluded.
