The second term bid of Owelle Rochas Okorocha, for Douglas House come 2015 seems to be a foregone conclusion to many Imolites especially members of his rescue mission team.
Report have shown that the Governor and his team have perfected plans to consolidate power in the state using a very strong and formidable group known as Vote Rochas Club to achieve his aim.
The groups which have coordinators and sponsors in all the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo have been sensitized on the kind of job they are going to do during 2015 election in the state.
Last Tuesday at Imo College of Advance Professional Studies (ICAPS) situated along Owerri Umuahia road, the VRC had an inauguration ceremony as part of its activities to swing into action of catching more souls for Governor Okorocha.
During the inauguration ceremony which was presided over by Hon Uche Onyeaguocha who represented Imo Governor, a lot of issues concerning their roles were discussed as it was agreed, that every other structure of the rescue mission will collapse into VRC which the leaders described as the last Hope of Imolites.
Speaking at the Occasion, a frontline politician in the state and business mogul, Hon Chief CJK Chinedu hinted that the club has no plan to rig any election in Imo rather it will ensure that the votes are protected.
In his words “We are formed to support good governance and any right thinking person in Imo will want Okorocha to continue”. He said.
Speaking further, he boasted that the opposition group cannot wrestle power from Okorocha who he said have advanced the cause of humanity in Imo.
He advised Imolites to join the club and the winning team of Governor Okorocha before it is too late.
In his own speech, the state coordinator of the club, Rev Dr Simon C. Nwaulu stated that anybody who want to go for any elective position in 2015 in Imo State must show his or her credibility, adding that any APC member who is not part of the club is bound to fail and will have him or herself to blamed at last.
While inaugurating 63 new members of the club and leaders, the S.A to the Governor on information and strategies, Hon Uche Onyeaguocha explained that APC will come out in full force and will win all the elective positions adding that hard time await Okorocha’s detractors in 2015.
He advised Imolites to shun the activities of these detractors who he said want to pull the state Governor down by all means. He used the forum to debunk the rumor that he has left APC for PDP “Over my dead body will I join PDP”. Onyeaguocha stated.
Vote Rochas Club as we gathered have booth, ward, LGA and state coordinator who handles the affair of the group. Collectively, they are all working for Governor Okorocha and are grassroots based.
His ward coordinators are being nominated by those at the LGA level while the LGA coordinators are nominated by those at the state level.
Investigation shows that no remuneration attached to the club for now. It is purely voluntary job and one is bound to pull out at any time if he wants.
Ambassador Uju Onwudiwe, (Igolo Njaba) who spoke on behalf of the inaugurated members pledged their loyalty and full support to Okorocha and his rescue mission team. Ambassador Onwudiwe who was honoured as the best contractor in Imo State by Owelle Rochas Okorocha disclosed that the members of the club are fully prepared to swing into action and will never disappoint the Governor any time any day “We shall float and sink with Okorocha” she declared.
