There are strong indications that Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Governor of Imo state will reshuffle his cabinet and drop some members of his Exco who are going for elective positions.
Our source revealed that those affected in the reshuffle will be announced in the next Exco meeting scheduled to take place at Imo Government House Owerri next week.
Those likely to be dropped as we gathered include, Bar Lady Ugochu Nnanna Okoro, Bar Uche Onyeaguycha, Dr Prince Charles Onuoha, Dr Kachi Nwoga, Dr Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, Dr TOE Ekechi, Chief Nick Oparandudu and others.
Trumpeta further learnt that six new commissioners and Special Advisers are going to be appointed to replace the out going ones.
Governor Okorocha in one of the public functions held recently announced that he is going to over haul his team and drop those that are in effective, and those eyeing elective positions.
Political analysts in the state described the cabinet shake-up as a ploy to remove those who are not loyal to the Governor and those who challenged his harmonization lists during the last ward and LGA congresses.
Another set of people to face the Governor’s slage hammer are the Marshal Okoroaforanyanwu’s loyalists and those who in one way or the other challenged the senior Government appointees like Chief of Staff, SSG, and Deputy Governor.
Marshal Okoroaforanyanwu was the former state chairman of APC who was removed from office recently.
The Governor, during the harmonization meetings held recently at Imo Government House Owerri hinted that measures will be adopted to curtail indiscipline in APC. He raised eye brows on some Government appointees who do not show respect to their seniors, especially the apex leaders.
