I Have Paid My Dues -Says Anumudu

Peoples Democratic Party of Nigeria Governorship aspirant Barrister Humphrey Anumudu has made it clear that he has paid his dues politically in Imo state polity.
Barrister Anumudu spoke during an Owerri zone political summit organized by Owerri Peoples Assembly (OPA) in conjunction with Owerri Peoples Front (OPF) at the All Seasons Hotel, Owerri.
Anumudu explained that it is regrettable that other zones in the state are yet to appreciate the enormous sacrifice of Owerri man towards the unity and stability of the state since its creation.
He however, appealed to the people of Orlu and Okigwe zones to reconsider the need to give opportunity to Governorship aspirants from Owerri zone to produce the 2015 Governor of the state.
According to him, the mirage of Governorship aspirants from Owerri zone this time around is an indication that what the people are demanding for is right, judicious and indeed theirs. Pointing out that the strength of the zone lies in its quality aspirants.
Also speaking, Chief E.C Iwuanyanwu congratulated the organizers of the summit for their commitment and strength of character. And urged them to avoid being a weapon for any particular aspirant. Chief Iwuanyanwu maintained that he believes in the “Imo charter of equity” as a unifying factor for all the zones in the state.
In her brief remarks, the PDP National woman leader, Ambassador Kema Chikwe frowned at the manner many sons and daughters from Owerri zone are declaring for the Governorship election.
She however, made it clear that the constitution of the party will be put in place in screening of aspirants at the appropriate time.
Speaking also, another Governorship aspirant Chief Jerry Chukwueke reassured the people from Owerri zone of the credibility of the aspirants from the zone. He further assured of their financial buoyancy to face the challenge.
Earlier in his address, the leader of Owerri Peoples Front Ebere Chukwuemeka said that the occasion is for the people of the zone to re-engineer themselves against the Governorship challenges. And urged leaders from the zone to make frantic efforts to scale down the number of aspirants to ensure positive results.
Other Speakers at the summit included Honourable SamDaddy Anyanwu, Prof Protus Nathan Uzoma, Dr Nnamdi Anumihe, Chief Fidel Onyeneke, Chief Elvis Agukwe, Chief Ngozi Ogbu, Chief Bathos Nwadike and Prof. P.U Akanwa who delivered a paper on “Ahead of 2015 General Election, Owerri zone are we prepared?” .
