I am a human being whose mundane existence is characterized by obvious limitations. I am constrained by time, energy and space. I am not perfect at all; I do not expect anybody to be perfect too. It is only God that is perfect.
As a social critic, I do not expect people particularly those holding any political position to love and praise me. At the same time, I do not expect them to be perfect but I expect them to maintain an appreciable level of sanity. I expect them to keep a standard that any moral human being would appreciate. When they fall short of such values and social, political, moral and economic standards in their policies, we pick up our pen to direct and educate them. In view of the above; ‘The Reformer’ is here once again to sincerely educate Nigerians and Imo state in particular because we are the victim of this political hallucination, manipulation and diversion.
For the purpose of clarity, the theme of this article is centered on Gov. Rochas Okorocha as well as the number of the beast, (the Anti-Christ) 666. The question that could come into the mind of my reader is how the two entities are related. As you read on, you shall discover the relationship and draw your conclusions.
Several Hebrew and Greek words and phrases are translated as “beast”. Beast may refer to any animal in distinction from people, reptiles, and sometimes cattle. Apocalyptic literatures such as Daniel and Revelation utilize beasts of various sorts in their symbolism. In this case, the beast I am talking about is the beast with number 666. The Holy Bible says, “And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads. And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom, let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast for it is the number of a man, and his number is six hundred three-score and six” Revelation 13:15-18.
From the foregoing biblical assertion, the beast number (666) has a historical cum eschatological significance in the culmination of global events; but that is not my major concern in this article. If you properly analyze the above quoted Bible portion, you will discover the relationship between the function of the beast and that of our Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha of Imo state.
At this point let me inform you that when chief Okorocha joined All Progressive Congress (APC), he never knew that he was fulfilling a particular portion of the biblical prophecy. Few weeks ago, the All Progressive Congress (APC) undertook an exercise of registering their members. In Imo state, the registration took a dangerous dimension. When Chief Okorocha noticed total rejection from Imolites in the registration exercise, people were organized to go into various villages and wards using town criers urging Imo people to come out in mass and register for INEC membership cards. Some were hoodwinked and they registered.
Those in civil service were threatened that if they fail to register in APC, there will be no promotion or salary for them. The story was captured in the front page of the Nigerian Horn Newspaper of February 10th-11th 2014 thus, “Bizarre in Imo-No APC Card, No Employment.” According to the report, “A text message forwarded to a youth beneficiary from Okigwe zone reads, “Congratulation your name has been shortlisted under the Youth Must Work Programme of the Rochas Okorocha’s rescue programme in solving joblessness of our youths….ensure you register with the nearest APC booth in your area and come with your slip for further briefing on your employment.” This I know is no longer news.
During the registration exercise, there were confusions in many villages as they were forced to register in APC in order to benefit from Gov. Rochas Government. Contractors in Imo state were also implored by the Government to make sure their wards are registered members of APC in order for them to enjoy Government patronage. Without APC card, the so called free education of the Government will not be enjoyed. Permit me to exaggerate it further, No APC card, no food, no water, no electricity, no husband, no wife, no bearing of children, no free movement in Imo state, no money, no house, etc. Is this not an abomination?
My old parents may have been told to register in APC to enable them enjoy the freedom of buying and selling in the Nkwo local market of my village. What a shame! There were a lot of crude and hoodwinking dexterities employed by Chief Okorocha to throw dust into the eyes of unsuspecting Imolites. This is exactly the philosophy of the antichrist- the beast. The Bible says, “……..no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark (APC) or the name of the beast or the number of his name” Rev 13:17.
For the beast, you cannot buy or sell except you have its name or mark/number (666) on your body. For Gov. Okorocha, you cannot be promoted (those in the civil service) or get any job or contract or benefit from his Government except you are registered in APC. What is the difference? Is Gov. Okorocha running the Government of the beast 666? Bishop Maxwell Korie of the Life Line Assembly whose church was bulldozed recently probably because he is not a registered member of APC may tell us better.
Gov. Rochas is vindictive to a fault. If you doubt me ask Hon. Athan Ogoh he will tell you his ugly experience and the price he is paying for not supporting Okorocha. If you continue to doubt me, ask Alhaji Isa Okeke an elder statesman of Imo state what he is going through now courtesy of Rochas. Do you still doubt me? Then ask the 106 Ezes of Imo state why Gov. Okorocha has refused to pay them their arrears. For those who still doubt, you may contact the 10,000 Imo youths that our Governor displaced them of their jobs. I can go on and on to prove that Gov. Rochas is vindictive in his administration.
I am sure that the reason Chief Rochas Okorocha either refused or forgot to redeem the one million naira pledge he made during my book lunch in November last year is not unconnected with me not being a registered member of APC. My Governor, should I first register in APC before you redeem your pledge? I am still waiting to hear from you before I decide on what to do.
Once, while father Spee was praying, he asked the lord, “Lord, I would like to sail our life’s rough sea and reach the heaven of eternity. What ship should I take?” The lord replied, “The cross”. The priest asked again, “Lord, I would like to climb up to heaven, what stairs should I use?” The lord replied, “The cross”. The priest asked for the third time, “I would like to enter into paradise. What key will open it?” The lord answered for the third time, “The cross”.
Gov. Rochas Okorocha, the cross is our consolation in all your ignoble policies aimed at making Imo your private supermarket, we look up to the cross because in it we find peace, love, patience, forgiveness, long suffering, and non-violent approach etc, otherwise…The cross shall keep you there for the remaining months you have and the cross shall remove you from office come 2015. We are waiting for you behind the cross. Nathan Protus Uzorma.
