Ohakim and 2015 Guber rumour
A few days ago, a popular Owerri based tabloid published that the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim has prepared to join the Imo Governorship race come 2015.
Since that publication, many Imolites took it with a “basin of salt” believing that in politics anything can happen. Others say there is no smoke without fire.
Last week it was rumoured that Ohakim was set to join APC, even as some people swore that they saw the former Governor queuing up to register as APC member at Okohia, in Isiala Mbano LGA.
But the question is; will Ohakim really join the guber race come 2015? The argument is that if another Okigwe candidate becomes Governor in 2015, that person will want 8 years, while if it’s Ohakim, he will spend only four years. I hear you!
For those who saw Ohakim queuing to register for APC they may have seen a ghost, as popular side learnt that the former Governor remains in PDP, and has no intension of jumbing ship.
And the story of Ohakim throwing his hat into the ring for Imo Guber 2015? It sounds like a dream yet, as he has not told any body he is running or not.

Umajumogu’s Ben Johnson style
Despite his massive body structure, the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly is agile and smart anytime. Trust the Ihitte Uboma- born Lawmaker in sharpness. He showed his true colour as “Nwa guy” on Tuesday when he announced that the seat of member representing Oru East Hon Greg Okemili is vacant. Immediately after hitting his gavel (Ofo) to cement the decision, Uwajumogu announced next date for sitting before running out of the chamber in a jiffy. Before his colleagues could come into terms with the realities of the pronouncement, the speaker has answered Ben Johnson and bolted away. He ran outside and next into his car even when his drivers were not on standby and available to move out. Who knows whether the amiable speaker that is fast turning into “hard guy” was an athlete during his primary and post primary days?

Emeka Ihedioha and the burden of Leadership and Friendship
You know Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha. He does not need any introduction. He is the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. A front runner in the 2015 Imo Governorship race. But that is not the issue here.
The wahala is that Ihedioha’s friends and Aides want to put him into “temptation”, and wants to “tie” his hands by putting him in a tight situation this election year.
To cut the story short. Ihedioha’s good friend and associate, Hon Samuel (Sam Daddy) Anyanwu, representing Ikeduru in the Imo House of Assembly is eyeing the Senate seat of Owerri zone, and counts on his Buddy, the Deputy Speaker to help him.
Suddenly, Ihedioha’s former colleague, and now Aide, Hon Enerst Ibejiako (Nwandaa) has also joined the race for Owerri Senate seat.
Have you seen where confusion broke bone? Under this scenario, what will the Deputy Speaker do? Support his friend and abandon his ex-colleague and Aide? Support his Aide and ex-colleague to the detriment of a close ally like Samuel Anyawu? Wahala de! But trust Ihedioha, a tested political craft man. He must wriggle out of this “trap” when the time comes. But for now, the “yes” have it.
