Senator Osita Izunaso Declares: APC Is A Movement, Wants Ndigbo To Embrace Party As Party Begins Membership Registration Tomorrow

As the All Progressive Congress, APC, Begins its nationwide membership registration tomorrow, a frontline leader of the party and the National Organizing Secretary, senator Osita Izunaso has expressed that the legacy party which debuted last can best be described as a movement.
Izunaso told newsmen in Owerri that the emergence of the party and its acceptance and operation indicates that it is a mass movement aimed at giving Igbo speaking people of the South East states of Nigeria her rightful place in the country.
According to Izunaso” APC is more than a party. It is a movement. From its formation, the people behind it and the goal the party is set to achieve depicts a movement, look at those joining the party from the PDP, it shows that the APC is a movement to wipe out certain ills perpetrated in the past by the ruling PD”..
The senator who represented Orlu zone 2007-2011 noted that the APC is the only platform among other parties like PDP and APGA where the interest of Igbos will continue to be protected. The Oru West born seasoned lawmaker observed that contrary to wide belief and misconception in several quarters that it is party for the Hausa and Yoruba people, the party is for Ndigbo and would cater for the interest of the South East people.
Highlighting on why people of South East should register en masse in APC as registration of members kick-starts this week, senator Izunaso revealed that apart from the governor of Imo state becoming the APC governor’s forum chairman, South East has the largest members in both the National Working Committee, NWC, and National Executive Council, NEC of the party more than any other zone
The Senator further pointed out that the broom symbol of APC is synonymous with the Igbo race than other tribes adding that only APC has the abilities of taking Ndigbo to national politics unlike APGA in and PDP where people of South East are predominant losers in national polity.
On Igbo interest, Izunaso noted that a chronological analysis of current events indicate that Igbos do not have a better deal in the PDP stating that the people are playing undue subordinate role in our polity. Senator Izunaso enjoined people of the South East to join APC and feel a better fresh air and chance of producing Nigerian President of Igbo extraction.
Commenting on 2015 election and the rumour making the rounds that there is conflict of interest between him and governor, Okorocha, over the Senator ambition of becoming Orlu zone’s senator again, Senator Izunaso opined that the report is a figment of the writer’s imagination disclosing that such issues cannot arise between him and the governor. The APC organizing secretary revealed that he has been under pressure from political associates and well meaning persons to go for a position but he is still making consultation before official pronouncement,
“I have been inundated by requests but I am taking my time. I am a man of procedure. I will take my time, he added.
