The General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Mr Iheanyi Abaekwume has said to Imolites that it is time to appreciate the efforts and achievements of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha for redesigning and maintaining Owerri Master Plan within a short spell.
The Town Planner, Mr Abaekwume on his affirmation while addressing journalist in Owerri recently in his office along PortHarcourt road reiterated that the Governor has done well as his commendable effort has yielded results which have multiplayer sectors of Imo economy which include the educational, transportation, health, agriculture sectors among others. Stressing that kudos should be given to him.
Mr Abaekwume explained that “when you look around the city today and make comparism with the previous administrations, one will agree with me that the present administration of Governor Okorocha has performed creditably”. Stressing that OCDA is well disposed to ensure effective implementation of Imo Master Plan as OCDA is committed and focus in the vision and mission of the organization which is to implement, create an efficient functional cities that all Imolites will be proud to be part of.
He bared his mind on why every developer should ensure that their building plans are approved, stating that an approved building plan attracts compensation if there is any issue of revoke or demolition as it is the duty and responsibility of OCDA to ensure that developers comply with the established laws. He added that the approved of building is for the good of the people to get their building plan approved as it enables developers a good chance for compensation.
