For his inability to showcase what he has been able to do for people of Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, Oru West Federal Constituency since he entered the lower chamber of the National Assembly to represent the people of the area in 2011, Hon Gerald Ironna has been dubbed a failure.
This was part of fresh resolution by the people of the Federal Constituency represented by their leaders across the three LGAs that constitute the federal constituency.
In a further statement made available to Trumpeta, the leaders of the federal constituency who co-coordinated the constituency meeting on January 11, 2014, regretted that instead of addressing issues raised over poor performance and misrepresentation of the people at the House of Representatives, Ironna chose to divert attention in his response and concentrated on frivolities that are irrelevant to the desire of the electorates who gave him the mandate.
According to the statement endorsed by Barr P C Mgbenwelu, (Oru West), Dr V C Nwulu (Ohaji/Egbema) and Hon Williams Ejiakor (Oguta) on behalf of the Leadership Forum of the federal constituency, “We are disappointed that Hon Ironna rather than address the issues raised in the said resolution is busy chasing shadow. It is indeed very sad that faced with such grave issues as we raised bothering on ineffective representation in the National Assembly, our Honourable Member rather than address them is falling cheaply to the trite political tactics of bribing people to disown their signatures to a document that questions his inefficiency and effectiveness. We expect our Honourable Member to know that the so-called “refutal”, does not vitiate nor address the weighty issues raised about his manifest ineffective representation.
“Indeed if anything the said publication only confirms that we do not have representative in the House of Representatives.
While stating that all the projects claimed to have been attracted by Ironna were projects either awarded or executed before his House of Reps election, the indecent language applied by Ironna’s cohorts to pool the wool over the eyes of Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru Wests constituents, indicates that the Reps Member is a total failure and risking recall process.
The Leadership Forum went further to state that since Ironna has never called a leadership meeting to address pertinent issues affecting the people other than the annual ritual of offering pittance to people during Christmas, the voice of the contributors who spoke during the recent issue on Hot FM radio station regular morning programe, “Peoples’ Assembly, speak volumes of Ironna’s rejection.
