Ihedioha Empowers Imolites, Showers Xmas Gift to LGAs

The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives on Saturday 21st December 2013 at Mbutu Secondary School playground splashed Christmas gifts to all the 27 LGAs of Imo State.
Addressing the mammoth crowd at the event, His Excellency, Rt Hon Ihedioha noted that his love for Ndi Imo has always motivated him to show appreciation for their support and prayers through sharing with the people at Christmas which he said gives him great joy. He donated brand new 18 seater buses for Ngor Okpala, Aboh Mbaise LGAs and Owerri Zone PDP. He donated Keke to many cooperative societies in the state, disable association, Keke operators union and many other groups. Motor bikes were given to some officers of the party in the 3 LGAs of Mbaise and Ngor Okpala at LGA and ward levels, rice, different food items and cash gift were splashed to all the 27 LGAs of Imo State. Women leaders were also given various types of wrapper courtesy of the wife of the Deputy Speaker.
Addressing the numerous party supporters, the state chairman of the PDP, and newly appointed Chairman National Population Commission, Chief Sir Duruihuoma SAN, noted that the best thing that happened to PDP was the emergence of Ihedioha as Deputy Speaker as he is God ordained. He extolled his contributions to good governance, human and infrastructure development noting that he has used his position to empower Imolites. Sir Duruihuoa thanked the deputy speaker for being a worthy son of Igboland.
Sir George Eguh, PDP secretary and Hon Ngozi Pat Ekeji in their separate speeches extolled the leadership qualities of Ihedioha noting that he is a man with a large heart in sharing the dividends of democracy to the entire people of Imo. The most thought provoking speech was made by the honourable member representing Aba North and South at the House of Reps, Hon Uzo Azubuike, Chairman House Committee on public petition, who said the Ihedioha is instrumental to many south eastern legislators as a principal member at the National Assembly. He appealed to Imo to exploit the leadership qualities of the deputy speaker and elect him governor in 2015 a development he said will bring together all leaders of the south East to forge a common front for the accelerated development of the zone. Most of the party faithful who spoke to journalists noted that Deputy Speaker is an accessible leader who is always willing to empower people. They called on blackmailers and rumour mongers to turn a new leaf and support Rt Hon Ihedioha as they opined that few of the people criticizing his rising [profile are doing it out of envy, greed and mere mischief.
